Spot 1: Brandon Hill

Located just off Park Street in the West End, Brandon Hill is the oldest park in Bristol where you can enjoy some great views over the city and Harbourside area.

Spot 2: Cabot Tower

Cabot Tower, made from red sandstone and covered with cream Bath stone, is set in the gorgeous parkland of Brandon Hill. To give you a bit of historic background, it is a 105ft tower which was built in 1897 to commemorate John Cabot’s famous voyage from Bristol and the continent of North America four hundred years ago. If you’re feeling brave and not afraid of heights, it is free to climb up the steep and twisting steps of the tower which is open daily. It is the best place to go in Bristol to enjoy the panoramic views of the city and the Harbourside.

Spot 3: The Downs

This area of Bristol makes for the perfect location for walks, exercise and picnics. It is a large green open space on the edge of the city with outstanding views of the Avon Gorge, Leigh Woods and the Severn Estuary.

Spot 4: Clifton Observatory & Camera Obscura

An interesting and unique destination to visit situated near the Clifton Suspension bridge, the camera obscura is a big camera at the top of the Clifton Observatory tower which allows you to look out around the whole area. You can also descend into the caves of the Avon Gorge which leads to another viewing platform where you’ll get another lower view of the bridge and stunning views of the gorge itself.
